Ty was excited for the 4th of July for 2 reasons: the Ward parade and fireworks. Our ward does breakfast and a parade for the kids on the morning of the 4th at our church. We sat with the Tates for breakfast – Ty and Alex love to play together.
Kylan took it all in from his view in this stroller. Next year he’ll be able to enjoy the breakfast.
After breakfast, we went outside to the parking lot for the kids to decorate their bikes.
Kylan sat and watched:
Ty and Alex were anxious for the parade to begin and ready to lead the way.
Ty and Alex lapped everyone many times on their bikes.
The Tates invited us to spend the evening with them at a family pool. Ty has become confident with his swim vest and spent much fo the time in the pool by himself or playing with a noodle.
Kylan also enjoyed some time in the pool.
We had a great meal of hot dogs and hamburgers. Ty ate 2 whole hot dogs on the buns. It has only been recently that Ty would even eat a sandwich. Just the week before for Alex’s Birthday, Ty had to eat the hot dog and then the bun separately, so it was a quite an accomplishment for him to eat one hot dog on the bun, let alone 2. Of course, the only thing on the bun was the hot dog. We’ll have to progress to condiments in the future.
Chris and I made homemade ice cream, the kids were very excited about that. We had won some sparkles from our ward breakfast, but they ended up being duds. Luckily the kids weren’t too disappointed as they really did not know what they were any way. We packed up all or stuff and joined the crowd of people around the fairgrounds to watch the fireworks in Raleigh. Ty enjoyed shouting out the colors of the fireworks as they went off. Fortunately he did not do it the whole time, just for a few minutes.
