Valentine’s Day

Our Valentine’s weekend started with going to Marbles on Saturday.   They held a “Cupid’s Workshop” for members.  They had a snack table with chocolate fountains and trays for fruit, cookies, marshmellows, pretzel sticks and mini creme puffs.  The boys each received a box and we made chocolate covered treats for dad.  Kylan had a number of marshmellows off a stick.  He would have a new one in his mouth every time I looked at him.  At the tables, they had paper Valentine planes and Hugs and Kisses coupons.  Ty was so excited about the paper plane Valentines. 

Sunday we made Valentine cookies for the boys teachers.  Ty helped throughout the process: helping gather ingredients for the cookies, cutting out heart shaped cookies and then decorating.  Ty loved sprinkling the colored sugar and placing  red hots on the cookies.  At one point he called the red hots – pom poms.  Then he asked if they were Chris or my vitamins.  Chris jokingly responded they were my “vitamins”.  When we ran out, Ty walked over to Chris and said, “Dad, we need some of your vitamins, we ran out of mom’s for the cookies.” 

Ty enjoyed making valentines for his grandparents, teachers and for his classmates. 

Today he was so excited to go to school and enjoyed telling everyone along the way that he had valentine’s for his friends. 

When we picked up Ty from school, he was so excited to tell us about his special occasion day.  He told us about the special cupcakes they for their snack today.  His teacher let them have some of their valentine treats before they left for the day.  Of course Ty also enjoyed more at the YMCA  for his snack versus what I had sent him. 

Each student had to write a personal note to a classmate last week.  Here is the personal Valentine’s from his classmate Yayha.

“Dear Tygerson,

I wish you can live on a train.  Love Yayha”

All his friends and teachers know his love of trains. 

 

Kylan also enjoyed his Valentine’s day at school.  Here is the Valentine’s painting Kylan made at school for us.

On the way home, Kylan told me it was a self portrait.  Well he actually said it was a picture of Kylan and pointed out his eyes. 

Here are the Valentine’s Kylan received from his friends at school.

The rubber red heart  with arms and legs – Kylan called a spider with legs.   When Kylan was done playing with it, he said, “here you go mom”.  He watched me stretch the arms and said, “Mom be careful.” 

After dinner, the boys opened their Valentine’s cards from Grandma and Papa Clark.   Grandma Clark sent train cutouts.  The boys loved them.  In fact, Kylan had to set up the tracks and grabbed a train and began playing with them, “Chug – a –Chug- a “ and guided the train over the track.  Dad had to hold the train crossing sign up at the side of the track. “Dad signing”.

The boys also enjoyed the chocolate trains I made for them with Jelly Bellies. 

Ty enjoyed checking out all the train pieces and trying to figure out how they should be connected.
