Chris came home for the long Easter weekend. Ty enjoyed attending the Y Monday-Wednesday. Thursday was Ty Mom/Dad time and Ty choose to go to Marbles. His favorite areas at Marbles these days is the submarine, ship, and the magnetic marble maze. This is where he spent some time making his own marble maze and was so proud of his work. Unfortunately an older kid came over and tore it apart in seconds. Ty handled it well.
We had considered taking the boys to the zoo one day over the weekend, but when we asked the boys what they wanted to do, Kylan voted for Marbles and Ty voted to go bowling. So we had a full Saturday. After lunch, we headed to Marbles. Kylan bee-lined it for the train tables and Ty for the submarine.
They eventually both ended up in the garden, where Ty and Kylan enjoyed watering the flowers and plants.
After drenching those poor yellow flowers multiple times (we tried to get him to water else where, but he was adamant about that area), he made his way to the digging area.
Then he wandered off to investigate what Ty was doing. At this time, they were letting kids plant sunflower seeds to take home. Both Ty and Kylan planted their own seeds. This was great for Ty who has been collecting seeds from almost everything we eat in order to plant them in our back yard.
Before we left – we visited the large legos area. Kylan began by building towers, but finished by helping to destroy and knock down most of the towers that had been built.
Between Marbles and bowling we enjoyed a cold snack at Goodberry’s. Nothing like some frozen custard to give us energy for 2 hours of unlimited bowling! Here is Kylan enjoying my sunglasses.
The boys did great for 2 hours of bowling – the first hour was the best, after that Kylan began his running. But overall they did great. Kylan loves taking the ball and putting it down the lane on his own. Ty mixed his game up by using the metal guide part of the time and running the bowl down the lane the other.
I was on track to break 200 in my first game until my streak of strikes and spares ended in the 8th frame. So I only finished with a 162 which is the best I have had since I stopped teaching bowling. But my game when down hill from there. Although Chris bowled better his second game, I walked area with the highest score that day. I think it was the first time I have beat Chris in a game.
Kylan fell asleep on the way to dinner – apparently we wore him out. But after about 30 minutes, we woke him to go eat in Chatham Street Cafe. Had we known our food would take 45 minutes we could have let him sleep longer. Overall we enjoyed a great day as a family.
