After letting the boys play on the trains for an hour, we grabbed a quick sandwich and got on board the Front runner train to ride to Salt Lake. The boys were in awe most of the way down to Salt Lake. Ty loved pointing out the track switches, sidings and other parts of the train tracks as we traveled. Kylan just repeated most of what Ty would point out and pretty much kept his face glued to the window.
We had planned to let Ty get his free Bday dinner at California pizza, but had got a late start that morning. So instead, we let Ty pick out a caramel apple at Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and then we had to get back on the Frontrunner train back to Ogden.
Once back in Ogden, they boys wanted to check out the trains on the other side of the station. So we let them climb on them for about 10 minutes.
At 5:00 PM, it was time to return to the car to make the drive back to Logan where we would meet up with Heather, Megan, Mom and Saundra at Merlin Olsen Park to continue celebrating Ty’s Bday. We grabbed pizzas on the way at Dominos and met everyone else there.
We enjoyed pizza, spinach and grapes - all favorite foods of Ty's. He was ready for his cake after he finished eating. Ty has been planning his cake for months. Probably since he purchased his Hiro train last Christmas. Unfortunately, I made the face too big for the train, but Ty did not seem to mind.
After 3 or 4 attempts, Ty finally was able to blow out all of his candles. Ty and Kylan enjoyed eating Hiro’s face. With full belly's, the kids were ready to go to the playground.
After cake, Ty was excited to open presents from Megan, Grandma Jensen and Grandma Clark.
Megan gave him some great things for activities, such as a large coloring book, new puzzles, crayons and sidewalk chalk.
Grandma Clark gave Ty some new binoculars and money.
And he received money from Grandma Jensen and Grandma Elsie. So far with his money he purchased 2 new “Cars” cars. With the rest of his money, he plans to buy a new bike.
