We love the food network and have been watching for some cool food shows to attend. In our AAA magazine, we found there would be 3 chocolate festivals the weekend before Valentines in NC. After reviewing all of them, we choose to attend the one in Morehead City out on the coast. After a 2.5 hour drive we arrived to a very crowded parking lot. The advertisements claimed there would be great samples. We paid to get in and probably had only 2 samples and then ended up paying for a crepe and bon bon. Ty was happy to decorate a cupcake - yes with chocolate frosting. Disappointed, we left. Luckily, there is an Aquarium about 15 miles away on Pine Knolls shore and we are members of the Zoologic Society, so we got in free.
Kylan was sleeping in the stroller, so we did not pull him out for this picture.
Ty enjoyed the frog statues throughout the aquarium – or maybe mom just thought they were cute photo ops.
Ty had a great time trying to touch the sting rays. We spent about 30 minutes here letting him play in the water and daring to touch them as they came by.
They have a boardwalk to go to an outside exhibit of snakes and to catch a view of the ocean. Chris and Ty are working on their fly catching skills – they must have been influenced by the frogs.

I think Ty is a little tired – but he didn’t stay down long. In fact it was probably only 10 seconds. Then off he went again.

After the Aquarium, we stopped to walk on the beach. But not for long, it was quite chilly. Ty found some cool sea shells to take home.
So although the main purpose of our trip did not turn out as we had planned, we had a wonderful time at the Aquarium, a chilly walk on the beach and found a great Italian restaurant with excellent pizza for dinner. And wore Ty and Kylan right out…
