Kylan’s First 6 Months

IMG_3890

It is hard to believe that Kylan is 6 months old, cutting his 2 bottom teeth, sitting up on his own, eating 3 baby food meals a day and chatting away (baby talk of course).

Kylan was born November 2, 2008 at 5:55 AM in Raleigh NC. He came pretty quick compared to Ty – this may have been due to the 3 mile walk/run that Ty and I did the night before on the Duke Trail. When Ty goes for a walk, it is usually a run.

It was so easy (it was just 4 hours from start to finish), I was ready to leave the hospital that night and go home, but of course they would not let Kylan go home, so we waited to go home the next day.

At 2 days old, Kylan was rolling over from his belly to his back and pacifying himself with his fingers.

Here is Kylan’s proud older brother Ty and a very proud father. It actually took a few days for Ty to hold Kylan. However, he was giving him kisses and soft hugs as soon as he saw him. The first night home, he did say that it was time for Kylan to go back into mommy’s belly.

We call this the poop chair and it seems to be a great spot to fill a diaper. Ty seemed to always fill his diaper when he was in this rocker and Kylan seems to do the same. Here he is making that tell-tell face of what is to come.

6 days old and so precious. Nothing is more perfect than when they are sleeping so peacefully!

Here is the famous frogger position. This is how Ty always slept as an infant. This is the one occasion that we caught Kylan in the same position.

Binki is almost a 1/4 of his face. Wow – hard to believe they are so small.

Ty is always happy to help with anything. He was so excited to help feed Kylan. However, I had to keep reminding him to keep the bottle up so the milk would come out.

Taking a rest, Mom kept rolling him back to his belly after he would roll onto his back. – 4 weeks old.

Kylan wore himself out with belly time that he curled up for a nice nap.

IMG_2899 Kylan was not crazy about bathtime for a couple weeks. However, he soon warmed up to the idea and absolutely loves to kick and splash in the bath now.

This was a day that Ty actually asked to hold Kylan, so of course we had to get a picture.

Kylan was blessed December 7, 2008 in our home ward of Durham. He was one month old. Grandma & Papa Clark were visiting.

I tried to get a good photo of the two boys, but Kylan was not very happy and Ty was a bit unsure of it all, but he did a great job and was very gentle with Kylan.

I finally got some photos of Kylan in his blessing romper that Grandma Jensen had made for Ty’s blessings.

Here is Ty playing with Kylan. Well actually playing with Kylan’s toys. Sometimes Ty would tell Kylan about the toy, but usually he just enjoyed playing with the toys in front of Kylan.

This is dad’s version of a baby bench press: Kylan holding 2 rattles and lifting weights. We like to start them early.

Here is one of his famous double dimple smiles. 1 1/2 months old.

Kylan let me take some photos one night and here is one of the better ones – December 20, 2008.

I think Ty was tickling Kylan – it sure is fun to get pictures of them together.

At bedtime, Ty moves over and shares his bed with Kylan. Here is a fun clip of them one night for story time.

While dad was cleaning the carpets downstairs, Ty and Kylan watched Madagascar upstairs on Ty’s Thomas coach. Kylan is nearly 3 months here.

Kylan smiles and gets exc ited as soon as we say Bathtime. He can lay in the bath and splash for almost a half hour at a time.

We put Kylan in the intellitainer at 4 months and he has loved it. He was quickly able to turn himself to the area he wanted to play at.

We first attempted cereal and milk at 4 months, although it looks like he is eating it, he did not really take well to cereal at first. We tried it for a couple nights, but he was never interested. So we waited and tried again at 5 months. He took right to it – and within a few weeks he began eating 2-3x/day.
