New Year’s Eve PJs

We found some nice flannel Thomas PJs for the boys after Christmas and decided to give them to the boys as a New Year’s Eve present.

We took the boys out to watch the early fireworks for kids (7 PM). When we returned, we surprised the boys with the PJs. Kylan’s reaction: “I love it”. Ty was excited to, repeatedly saying, “Thank you, I love them.” They were both excited to put them on for bed.

Things that make us smile

6/28/14: When we arrived at 6th Crossing, a couple boxes of Cowboy Donuts were set out for us to enjoy. As we were enjoying our donuts, Kylan's eyes lit up and he exclaimed, "Is this why we came here? To get Cowboy donuts?"

7/8/12: Ty was spot-lighted today in Primary. As the Primary President was reading of things about Ty, she stated, "He doesn't have any pets, is that right Ty?" Ty responded, "No, except Grandma and Papa."

5/13: As Kylan got dressed for church today, he asked Chris to help him put on his "kylan". I guess since Ty wears a tie, Kylan thought he should call his "kylan".

5/2: I had just finished feeding Wesley when Kylan asked to hold him before heading to school. Kylan sat on the couch and I put Wesley in his arms. He began lifting up his shirt and said, here baby I'll share my breakfast with you, do you want some cheerios and milk?"

12/7: When we told the boys that we were having another baby - we told them the baby was in my belly. Kylan came up to me and asked, "the baby is in your belly?" He lifted my shirt and looked up. "No the baby is not there."

12/14: Kylan came up to me while I was sitting at the computer. "Mom, did baby go to school today?" You can talk to the baby. So then Kylan looks at my belly, "Baby did you go to school today with mom?" pause "Yes?" Kylan looks up at me, "Baby said he went to school with you today." "Baby do you want to eat mom's necklace?" pause "No" "Baby does not want to eat your necklace" Then he leaned over and kissed my belly. "I kissed the baby with my lips"

9/16/11: Girlfriend

Ty came home from school and said mom, I got a card from my girlfriend. So he pulled a purple envelope out of his backpack that said "tie", opened it and pulled out a card. Inside it simply said, "I love you". When I asked Ty who gave it to him, he said the girl he sits next to at school. But he could not remember her name:)

8/31/11: Preschool

Kylan has had some difficulty starting back to preschool. Yesterday when he was sad, his teachers were comforting him and he stated, "I'm just going through a difficult transition. I'll be okay."

4/25/11: Potty Training
Mom: "Kylan just let me know when you need to go potty."
Kylan: "Okay. I'll just say, "Mom, Kylan needs to go potty" okay?"

4/5/11: Tonight's dinner conversation:
Kylan: "Duck"
Me: "Are you a duck Kylan?"
Kylan: "No, I am a fireman."
Me: " You are a fireman"
Kylan: "Yes"
Me: "What do you do?"
Kylan: "Put out fires"
Ty: "Where do you live?"
Kylan: "On the Fire Truck"
Ty: "No - fireman live in the Firehouse."
Kylan: "No - on the fire truck!"

3/28/11:
Ty: "Mom, who is my wife?"
Me: "Ty you do not have a wife."
Ty: "But mom, I need a wife, who will I marry?"
Me: "You have plenty of time to find a wife - you'll get married when you are older."
Ty: "Well mom, how old are you?"
Me: "33"
Ty: "Oh, so next year you will be 34."

3/4/11: In the car driving home, Kylan says, "Mom...your beautiful just the way you are."

Dec. 2010: Chris and I were lying in bed and Ty announces from his bathroom, "I'm just naked in here. I was in the mood of getting dressed, but I had to go potty."
