We have been trying to go for hikes with the boys each time we drive to UT/ID. On one of our previous visits, we had hiked to the base of the Crimson Trail/China wall up Logan Canyon. Ty decided he wanted to do the entire trail. We informed him that we would do it on our next visit. So over Labor Day weekend, we planned to go on Monday before returning to Wyoming. Ty was very excited and helped to plan what we would need to bring. It was an overcast day and Ty made sure we had our umbrellas:)
We started later than we had planned, but it was still cool due to the overcast weather and potential for rain. Ty enjoyed leading the way up the trail. Kylan walked part of the way up and then enjoyed the ride on Chris back to the top.
Here was our stopping point at the top where we ate our lunch.
After we stopped for our lunch, Kylan was refueled and he ended up leading us across the top of the wall. With about 3/4 of a mile left on the trail, Ty decided he was ready to turn around.
Here was our turn around point. It was a great place to take pictures.
Kylan made the return trip across the top and then requested to ride in the pack on my back on down the switchbacks. Once again - Ty was leading the way down the mountain.
Ty was excited to check out some of the side trails that lead down to the river when we returned to the bottom. Here we found him balancing and walking out on this tree that spanned over the river.
