For Ty and Kylan’s Birthday’s this year, Grandma & Papa Clark sent money for an outdoor playset. I found one on craigslist. With the help of friends and an unfortunate strained back, the playset made it’s way into our backyard. Then it sat for a couple weeks until Chris returned to help me rebuild it. However, during those 2 weeks, told informed me daily that I was to work on the playset while he was at school.
Now that it is all put together, the boys love it. Kylan enjoys climbing up the ladder and the slide (which he learned from Ty). Ty enjoys playing in the fort and spinning on the swings.
Chris has given Ty the job of gathering pine cones in the yard. He lets me know how many he picks up each day and he earns a penny a pine cone. Guess what he is saving his money for? Yes, more trains.
Ty also enjoys making trails in the pine straw (needles) and gathering acorns to feed his squirrel friends that he calls “Jumpy”. Every day on the way to school, Ty picks up acorns along the way and puts them in his backpack. When he gets home in the afternoon, he will take his acorns out to the back yard and you can hear him calling, “Jumpy, Jumpy come get your nuts. It is time to eat dinner. I brought you acorns.”
